Board inspects renovation of 8,000 capacity Mosque in Yobe
AREWA AGENDA – The Yobe Mosque and Islamic Centre Board of Trustees has inspected the ongoing renovation of the 8,000 capacity Yobe Mosque at the centre of Damaturu on Wednesday.
The Board of trustee’s Chairman, Alhaji Baba Ba’abba, opined that the Mosque is the symbols of Yobe State.
Ba’abba stated that initially the project started two years after the creation of Yobe state during the administration of Alhaji Bukar Abba Ibrahim as Governor of the state.
He said all governors that came after him have made their own contributions towards the completion of the project.

“What we are having now is unique. Actually this development, improvement, restructuring is piloted by Governor Mai Mala Buni.
“He don’t want people to know but we have a duty to tell people and request on all of us to pray for his efforts, his future, and his government.
He revealed that they use to have a quarterly meeting but stopped it due to what happened as a result of insurgency.
“Many things are initiated on the ongoing renovation such as doubling the toilet facilities for the males as well as for the female section, construction of facility for washing of the death bodies plus an ambulance dedicated for that purpose and construction of library respectively, “he said.
He called on wealthy individuals, philanthropists to contribute in kind, cash towards the completion of the project.
