Bauchi State Within the Week Under Review

AREWA AGENDA – On Monday, 28 September, 2020, the Executive Governor, Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed had in the audience of Mr. Osita Benjamin Chidoka, a former Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation under immediate past President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan at Bauchi Governor’s residence in Abuja.
On the same day, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed visited the National Chairman of People’s Democratic Party P.D.P at his residence in Abuja. The Governor was accompanied to the visit by the Bauchi state P.D.P Chairman, Alhaji Hamza Koshe Akuyam.
On Wednesday, 30 September, 2020, His Excellency, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed was decorated as the National Patron of the Police Community Relations Committee P.C.R.C. The National Chairman of the P.C.R.C also presented a certificate of honour to the Governor in recognition of his relentless efforts, philanthropic gestures and excellent performance towards the upliftment and development of P.C.R.C in Nigeria.
Lawal Mu’azu Bauchi, Special Assistant on New Media to the Governor reported that the Deputy Governor, Sen. Baba Tela received the certificate of honour on behalf of the Executive Governor by the National Chairman of P.C.R.C, Faruq Abdullahi Maiyama, Sen. Baba Tela thanked the committee for finding Governor Bala worthy of the certificate of honour and for appointing him as National Patron.
On Thursday, 1 October, 2020, being the 60th Anniversary of Nigeria’s Independence, the Executive Governor of Bauchi state, Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed interacted with youths and women groups on a crucial discussion during the celebration day.
Governor Bala said to meet the expectations of citizens of Bauchi state, his administration had concentrated its effort in provision of infrastructure, health services, agriculture, youth and women empowerment among others with remarkable achievements recorded so far.
The Governor also said despite the numerous challenges confronting the country, Nigerians remains strong and united. He urged the youth and women in the state to assist law enforcement agents in the fight against kidnapping, armed robbery and all forms of irregularity, charging them to ensure respect for constituted authority.

It was reported on Friday, 2 October, 2020, the Executive Governor, Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed visited the tomb of the late Nigeria’s first and only Prime Minister, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa for a special prayer.
Governor Bala’s visit to the tomb was the first of its kind by any Governor during the celebration of Nigeria’s Independence in the history of Bauchi state. The visit showed the Governor’s high sense of patriotism and love for Bauchi state and the country as a whole. The visit also reminds our youth about the need for them to work hard for the betterment of Bauchi state and the country, and that of their labour will never go unnoticed.
Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed prayed for the repose of the late Prime Minister and urged all good people of Bauchi state to also continue praying for the success of his administration.
On the same day, Lawal Mu’azu Bauchi, Special Assistant on New Media to the Governor reported that Governor Bala had received the audience of the National Chairman of People’s Democratic Party PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, Sokoto state Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, former Governor of Gombe State, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, former President of the Senate, Mr. David Mark, the Deputy National Chairman North of PDP, Senator Sulaiman Nazif Gamawa among others.
The National Chairman of People’s Democratic Party PDP, Prince Uche Secondus addressed journalists after a closed-door meeting with Governor Bala at Ramat House Bauchi, said they are in Bauchi for a solidarity visit to the Governor.
Prince Secondus described Governor Bala as a hardworking Governor and promised to continue to support him for a better Bauchi state.
On Sunday, 4 October, 2020, Governor Bala Mohammed had completed the Muda Lawal market road project a hundred per cent within a short period of time.
Beneficiaries of the road of the project have since commenced using it and it is expected to improve their economic growth and development.
In line with Governor Bala’s administration desire of providing critical infrastructure in both urban and rural areas, he has recently awarded contracts for the construction of various township roads across the state capital.
