Bauchi FRSC deploys 750 personnel, 200 volunteers in special operations for Easter Celebration
AREWA AGENDA – As Nigerian Christians join their counterparts worldwide to celebrate this year’s Easter, marking the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Bauchi State Sector Command of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) is to deploy a total of 750 personnel and 200 volunteers for its 2023 Easter Special Operations.
The 24-hour operations, according to the Sector Commander, Yusuf Abdullahi, would hold between Thursday, 6th April and Tuesday, 11th April 2023.
Abdullahi informed that 20 operational vehicles, 10 Ambulances, 15 recovery vans, three heavy-duty recovery vehicles, 12 light recovery vehicles, two extricating machines, two breathalyzers, alcolizer machines as well as three roadside clinics had been deployed and activated for the operations.
He further informed that part of the activities of the special operations is aggressive public enlightenment in churches and mosques, especially during the Ramadan Tafsir programmes.

According to the sector commander, the state command of the FRSC would collaborate with sister law enforcement agencies, road transport unions, media, Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), federal and state ministries of works and housing, health service providers, government and private hospitals and clinics, clergymen, traders and construction companies during the special Easter operations.
The major focus of the operations, according to Abdullahi, includes the reduction in road traffic crashes, enhancing the free flow of traffic, clearing of obstructions, prompt response to road traffic crashes, providing adequate and effective information management, effective intelligence, data collection and analysis process.
While assuring of a hitch-free Easter celebration in the state, the sector command warned the motoring public that the Corps would ensure strict enforcement of traffic rules and regulations, adding that there would be routine patrols during which traffic offenders would be arraigned before a mobile court to face trial.
