Attack on Sen. Bomai’s Potiskum Home, Work Of Detractors’

The singling out of Senator Ibrahim Bomai’s house for attack in Potiskum during the recent nationwide protests has been condemned and described as the work of his detractors.

Sen. Bomai is the APC Senator representing Yobe South in the National Assembly.

Abubakar Madu Bukar, legislative aide to Senator Bomai, in a statement, said the protesters did not earmark or conceived as part of their plan to attack the residence as the routes followed by them were far away from his residence.

He said “of the four houses of prominent politicians in his area, it was only his own that was attacked”.

Abubakar Bukar said Senator Bomai cannot be discouraged and neither will he be distracted by the sinister activities of his political detractors both within and outside the APC to bring him down in his firm resolve and absolute commitment to further bring more dividends of democracy to the good people of Yobe South.

“It is most unfortunate that Sen. Bomai’s political opponents who are jealous of his electoral successes and afraid of his rising political career instigated misguided, uninformed and ignorant elements to write a petition to INEC for his recall after failing to pull him down at the last primary and general elections masquerading under the guise of the on gong protests.

“But some persons whom we have now identified who are not happy with the electoral successes of the Senator that comprise supporters of a former Senator, some elements in the APC who had worked against the party at the last general elections for his re-election as Senator and supporters of candidates of other parties who lost against Senator Bomai colluded and orchestrated the attack on his house.

“We the patriotic people of Yobe South are proud of getting Senator Bomai and we shall continue to support him as a progressive, exemplary politician and a man of vision in his mission of bringing and continuing with the massive socio economic infrastructure in Yobe South that has never been witnessed before,” the statement said.
