Kano Anti Graft Agency Commences Distribution of Recovered COVID-19 Palliatives

The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission on Sunday commences distribution of recovered COVID-19 palliatives from Kabuga ward Councilor, Gwale local government area who was alleged of diverting the palliatives in his area.

Solacebase reports that the Councillor, Mr Shehu Kabuga was arrested on June 2, 2020, for allegedly diverting 116 COVID-19 palliative forms meant for vulnerable in the area during the lockdown period.

The Executive Chairman of the commission Barr. Muhyi Magaji Rimin Gado while addressing Journalists at Kabuga Ward during the distribution of the recovered palliatives, said the commission selected over 60 poor people from the Councilor’s ward to benefit from the COVID-19 palliatives.

‘’We requested for a court order and we were granted so that we can distribute the recovered COVID-19 palliatives to beneficiaries in the area,’’ Muhuyi Magaji said.

According to the anti-graft chairman, this would serve as a lesson to corrupt people or politicians as the Kabuga ward councillor’s case is still in court.
