Kano LG Election: Aggrieved APC Chairmanship Candidate in Kano Decries Imposition, Hints on Legal Action
AREWA AGENDA – An All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship candidate for Kano Municipal Local Government, Hon. Honorable Murtala Sunusi Dandawaki has decried the imposition of Fa’izu Alfinidiki as the party’s candidate for the forthcoming LG elections in the State.
In a letter of complaint issued by Nureini Jimoh Chambers and addressed to the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano on 23rd November, titled “Complaint of Infraction of Party Constitution” and cited by AREWA AGENDA, Hon. Dandawaki accused the party structure of being in breach of agreement by 17 out of the 23 aspirants – including Hon. Dandawaki – vying for the position.
According to the letter, the 17 candidates have agreed to bring out only one consensus candidate in the person of Hon Dandawaki, but the party structure in defiance of article 20 (iii) and (iv) which among other provision states that a candidate shall be nominated “through direct or indirect election to be conducted appropriate level,” orchestrated a plan to impose Alfinidiki.

It further warned that imposition of Alfinidiki being the current Special Adviser to the Governor of Kano State also violates article 31(1) (iii) of the party’s constitution which requires an interested office holder in an election to resign and leave office prior to the date of nomination or party primary.
The letter threatened legal action to challenge the party’s imposition of Alfinidiki whom it accused of having criminal records
It stated that, ” the imposition of Alfinidiki may lead to breach of law and order” threatening to forward the letter of notice to all party authorities.
