Kano ACF Hosts Northern Wealth Creation Conference, Exhibition

The Kano State Chapter of Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) on Thursday organised conference and exhibition to harness the productive and innovative capacity of northern youths for wealth creation.

The event which was held at Dangote Business School, Bayero University, Kano, was in collaboration with Dangote Business School and Media Trust Limited.

During his opening remarks, the ACF chairman, Kano chapter, Dr. Faruk Umar noted that the event is imperatively important to harness the skills and promote self reliance of the teeming youth of the region.

The conference was chaired by the Chancellor, Umaru Musa Yar’adua University (UMYU), Dr. Ibrahim Ida with eminent panels of speakers and discussants.

Two papers were delivered at the conference after which a panel of discussants discussed further on the topics.

One of the major highlights of the event was the exhibitions of innovation by the Northern youth.

The exhibitions were in four categories comprised which were, Agriculture, Transportation
Energy/Ict And
Security/Tech.

The exhibition exercise produced seven winners under the above four categories, with Abdul Nuruddeen, emerging winner, under ENERGY/ICT category.

Nurudeen who is from He is from U/Rimi Degel Kaduna North local
government area of Kaduna state,
was awarded with Rechargeable
organic battery from starch and multifaceted intravenous computerized
system, graphical user interface (GUI) for monitoring weather and solar cell
conducting plate projects.

He was also given one million naira (N1000,000), including award and certificate.

In the second position was Engr Uba Sani Kibiya under AGRICULTURE category, who was empowered with Eggs Incubator, Vegetable dryer and hybrid mobile cold-room projects. He is from
Kibiya local Government area of Kano State. He was given Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N500, 000) including award and certificate.

Under the SECURITY/TECH category, Sa’id Ahmad Idris came third
with ISR
(Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) Equipment and Unmanned
Aerial Vehicle (UAV) projects. He is from Nassarawa local government area of
Kano State. He was equally given Three Hundred
Thousand Naira (N300, 000) plus award and certificate.

Under the ENERGY/ICT category, Sa’idiyyu Muhammad came fourth. He was given
Home
Automation and Industrial Automation (IOT). Muhammad came from Kano Municipal local
government of Kano State. He was equally given the sum of
two hundred and fifty Thousand Naira (N250, 000) with certificate.

Also, Khadija Lawan Garo under the ENERGY/ICT category emerged in the 5th position. She went home with Electronic Control Unit
(Tricycle Brainbox) project. She hailed from Gwale local government of Kano State. Khadija was given the token of
Two Hundred Thousand Naira
(N200, 000) with certificate.

In sixth position under TRANSPORTATION category was Umar Yusuf. Yusuf hailed from Gere Local government area of Maiduguri in Borno state. He was rewarded with
Motorized Bikes, the sum of one hundred and fifty naira, and certificate.

Finally, Abdurrahman Auwal Abdu under AGRICULTURE from Fagge Local
Government of Kano came 7th. He got the reward of Solar Pesticide Sprayer project, a token of One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100, 000)
with certificate.

All othe remaining participants were awarded Fifty Thousand naira (N50, 000) with certificate of participation.

In a statement, Chairman, Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Kano State Chapter, Dr. Faruk Umar, said the conference would be chaired by Chancellor, Umaru Musa Yar’adua University (UMYU), Dr. Ibrahim Ida with eminent panels of speakers and discussants.

He said two papers would be delivered at the conference after which a panel of discussants is expected to discuss further on the topics.

Chairman ACF Kano Chapter Goni Faruk Umar PhD, ACF BOT National Chairman Alh. Bashir Dalhatu (Wazirin Dürer) and Mr. Temi Popoola CEO Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Ltd.
