Abba the Leader, Kano’s Awaited Savior!
By Sameer Lukman
In the bustling city of Kano, a new hope has emerged in the form of Abba Kabir Yusuf, the governor who is adored by millions and truly appreciated. A man of kindness and compassion, he regularly visits hospitals to check on the sick and settle their bills, displaying genuine concern for his people.
But Abba’s leadership isn’t just about empathy; it’s about real, tangible change. In a few short months in office, he has transformed Kano, making it safer by cracking down on phone-snatching and thuggery. Rather than casting aside those who have strayed, he’s reformed them into responsible citizens, proving that redemption is possible.
The governor’s commitment to improving healthcare and education is evident. He swiftly ordered the rehabilitation of all hospitals and government schools, ensuring that essential services are readily available to the people. His administration has also prioritized paying withheld pensions, repairing roads, and reviving education institutions abandoned by the previous administration.
What’s truly remarkable is Abba’s dedication to empowering the youth. He’s granted thousands of scholarships for students to study abroad, distributed textbooks, writing materials, and uniforms to three million pupils. This is a clear demonstration of his belief in the transformative power of education.

Moreover, Abba has breathed life back into critical infrastructure like our water plants, which lay abandoned for eight long years. Kano’s people have suffered, but they can now see the stark contrast between Abba’s vision and the past administration’s dismal track record.
What’s more astonishing is that Abba has achieved all this with limited resources. In a few months, he’s managed to turn things around despite the coffers being empty, exposing the past administration’s focus on plundering public funds.
Abba’s integrity is unassailable, and it’s evident that he’s the right person to lead Kano out of the darkness that plagued it for years. Just imagine what the city would be like if Abba hadn’t been robbed and rigged out of his well-deserved victory in the 2019 election.
Critics may point to the demolition of buildings around schools, hospitals, and historical sites, but the question remains: Is it reasonable for anyone to encroach upon these vital public spaces? Abba’s commitment is to ensure that the children of the poor have access to quality education and healthcare, unburdened by the encroachment of the elite.
As Abba’s victory is contested in the Appeal Court, we envision a bright future for Kano under his leadership. In eight years, we foresee a stronger, more vibrant city. It’s important to note that supporting Abba isn’t about sharing the ideology of Kwankwasiyya; it’s about recognizing the blessing that he is to Kano and cherishing the positive changes he’s bringing, regardless of our political beliefs.
Even if one has not directly benefited from Kwankwasiyya, a leader like Abba is worth celebrating and supporting. The sight of students departing for their education, holding dollars that rightfully belong to them, is a testament to Abba’s commitment to transparency and the welfare of the people, unlike the pocketing of public funds for personal gain we’ve witnessed in the past.????
